3 Tips for Going Off Autopilot & Taking Back Control of Your Life

Today I want to share some ideas for going off of autopilot and instead living your life on purpose. There are definitely times when doing things automatically is beneficial, but if you live in this 'auto-space' all the time, you allow life to happen to you rather than living your life the way you want.

Here are three ideas that you can use to live your life on purpose and by doing so, raise your vibrational energy, attract more positive things to you, get more done and feel much more vibrant, powerful and fulfilled.

Tip #1: Move out of the shadow and into the light. What makes you tick, what are you passionate about, where are you holding back? Tune in to who you really are and let her shine!

This is a huge topic that many books have been written on so let's just focus in on one little point... what are you doing to hold yourself back?

Most of us have been trained to hide a little bit (or a lot) of who we are. Maybe you've been told you laugh too loud or you're too quick to trust other people. Maybe it's been suggested you daydream too much and need to spend more time focusing on getting things done. Labels like; you're lazy, scattered, impulsive, lack self-control... all influence who you are and what you believe about yourself (even positive labels can hold you back!).

You also could be in a job you don't really like, but are there because someone else felt that's the career you should have. It's possible you feel afraid to course correct at this point in your life because you took schooling to get where you are or you've worked so hard to climb the ladder and to change now would seem like such a waste. Or maybe you're afraid if you stop you'll be seen as a quitter or people will think you're not smart enough, strong enough or committed enough to see things through.

Becoming aware of the areas of your life that are within your control and then using this awareness to help you make positive changes in your life is called conscious living. Noticing where you feel stagnant, uninspired or held back and then thinking about what you might do to make things just a little better can be a really great starting place for living this kind of life.

Doing things to please other people, pushing aside your real dreams and desires because you think (or have been told) they are too fanciful, is stopping you from reaching your full potential.

So when you consciously detect something is amiss, don't disregard it or push it aside because it's inconvenient. Instead, notice it, journal about it, explore it fully and see what comes to light.

Commit to finding and revealing the real you - I guarantee you she is wonderful and worth exploring.

Tip #2: Open yourself up to receive - gifts, compliments, love, healing, a helping hand...

This sounds like such a simple thing to do, yet it is not. Most of us have been taught that to need something from someone else makes you weak, immodest or sets you up to owe them and we do not like to be indebted to others. This stops us from being a true team member and collaborating effectively with others, plus it robs us of the pleasure receiving can bring.

If you struggle with receiving you can end up blocking everything you've ever desired from coming your way. Receiving and the pleasure it brings are two key pieces to filling up your tank so it's very important you learn how open up to it.

A simple way to increase your awareness around how well you receive things is to tune in to what you do or say when someone tries to give you something - like a compliment or praise. Really notice your response (even if it's just in your head!).

For example, if you just ran a meeting and I came up to you after to say "I just want to say you did a really awesome job chairing that meeting." How might you respond?

Most people will have patterns or habits that deflect, correct, deny, reciprocate, minimize, reject or question the compliment without even realizing they are doing it.

If you're honest with yourself, you'll likely find receiving a compliment can be quite a challenge. If so, here's what you might want to practice instead.

Feel the compliment, take it in, smile and respond with something like,

"Thank you, it feels great to hear you say that."

"Thank you, I'm glad you enjoyed it."

"It did go well, didn't it? Thanks for confirming that for me."

Tip #3: Practice forgiving - every situation you encounter in life is meant to help you evolve as a soul. This can be a hard pill to swallow if you've been abused, abandoned, traumatized, tortured or experienced other things in life that feel very personal and hurtful. So I say this with much compassion and love... forgiveness is a gift you give yourself.

Forgiveness allows you to take back the energy you are investing in being mad, hurt, ashamed, disgusted or revengeful and to instead surround yourself with the positive energy of compassion and understanding. You see, as long as you refuse to forgive someone - even yourself, you make it impossible for that relationship to evolve.

Refusing to forgive someone else gives them space, rent free, in your head. Refusing to forgive yourself stops you from healing and ever truly loving yourself.

When you feel like you've been wronged or done something wrong... you carry that energy with you in your heart. As a result, you push yourself harder, are less trustful of your own guidance, you create impossible and inflexible standards for yourself AND you lower your vibrational energy.

When you are able to forgive and learn to appreciate how that situation helped you become who you are today, everything changes.

The ability to forgive will help you plug a drain that is stopping you from fully owning your power. I know it feels like you are flexing your power muscles by refusing to forgive, but - as counter-intuitive as it seems - the exact opposite is actually true.

By tuning into where you are disconnected from yourself and holding yourself back, you open the door to all kinds of beautiful discoveries. By opening yourself up to receive those good things, you increase your vibrancy, recharge your battery and become more abundant. By remembering to forgive both yourself and others when things don't go as you might have liked, you are benefitting from the lessons and plugging a drain that could otherwise put you back in your shadow.

The more you practice these three things the easier they will become and before you know it you're living your life in a vibrant and powerful way.

Get Self Confidence in 5 Steps

It is important to be confident. Being confident, means to be secure in who you are and being certain in the decisions you make. Being confident in your abilities means that you are positive about yourself and it is this self confidence that make other people have trust on you. More sure you are about your skills, will make other people have more confidence on you. Self confidence goes a long way. From seeing everything in positive light, self confidence helps in career as well as life opportunities.

Every person is not born with the skill of self confidence but it is ability that can be groomed with a little dedication. Here are 5 pointers for boosting your confidence in yourself:

Concentrate on Positivity

Revaluate your life and take a break from the people who take you and your self confidence to a low. Try focusing on the solutions rather than the problems. Even if there is nothing going right, keep in mind that one day it will. Stay positive and concentrate on the silver lining in the dark clouds. It's your life and to enjoy it you have to stay positive and let go of negativity and negative people around you. Remember that after every rainy day, sun comes out.

Change in Body Language

It is said that people takes more cues from non-verbal language that is body language rather than verbal language. It is very necessary to have a good and agreeable body posture that shows your confidence. The straightforward task of pulling shoulders back provides a sense of confidence to you and lets other person see that you have confidence in your own abilities. Smiling and maintaining eye contact makes the other person comfortable around you.

Never Accept Failure

Don't accept failure and never give up. The act of accepting the failure shows that you can be easily defeated by your defeats and have no confidence in yourself. Follow the old saying of "Try and Try again and Never Quit". More you get challenged by a particular problem work hard and make sure that you try and complete the task. If you are continuously knocking yourself down with your negative thoughts, you are becoming what you are sermonizing within your head. Next time you think negatively, substitute it straight away for a positive assertion.

Always Be Prepared

Whether you go out for a job interview or you are working on a new project, learn to be always prepared. Discover everything, there is to know about your line of work, work, projects and more. Whatever maybe on your "to conquer" list, it is important that you always be prepared for all the setbacks and triumphs. If you are geared up, and have the skill to back it up, your self confidence will rise.

Create Accomplishment List

Life is full of trials and there are times when it's hard to keep our self confidence up. In those times, sit down and make a list of all the points in your life that you are thankful for and list of all the things you are proud of accomplishing. Once your lists are complete, keep them by your desk and always be reminded of what a marvelous life you have and what an incredible person you really are.

With these five steps, you can boost your self confidence and turn a new page of your life. Remember have trust in your abilities and your self confidence will show.

Finding Inner Peace

Finding inner peace is the path of letting go, even though, the path could be as hard or simple as a person makes the journey of self acceptance.

"He who lives in harmony with himself lives in harmony with the universe" ~ Marcus Aurelius

There are always many ups and downs in every one's life. Sometimes we get stuck in a world of confusion, wondering how we find a constant inner peace in our hearts and lives, when there is always something wrong in our lives or the lives of those we love.

What happens when we start to feel down or stressed?

First of all some kind of negative thought comes into our mind that gets us discouraged and anxious. The next thing that happens, is that we start believing in that thought. And feeding it with more arguments, which in turn gets us into a deeper state of confusion and sadness. Next thing we know, we find ourselves, there in that deep mud hole. We look around and all is doom and gloom.

What can we do so that this does not even happen?

1 - Accept what is: Life is unpredictable. Nothing is permanent, everything changes; and of course, a lot of things can happen that will transform who we are and have an impact on our life. The problem is that we need to be prepared to truly accept whatever comes and embrace it. This is what I have noticed with so many people, in that we focus and linger on things which we have no control over. Why worry about something that all the worrying in the world will not change? Why care about what other people think of us when we're not even sure what it is they are actually thinking? Yes, acceptance is a choice-a hard one most definitely, but a choice nonetheless. By practicing acceptance we learn to live in this changing world, where we never know what's going to happen next. Acceptance is like protecting ourselves with our own shields." You have to accept whatever comes and the only important thing is that you meet it with courage and with the best that you have to give" ~ Eleanor Roosevelt

2 - Meditate: Meditation makes us mentally strong, and emotionally resilient. It reduces the tendency to react, increases the tendency to respond and is an effective way to de-stress our minds. If you are not meditating yet then, you are missing out on a very important activity that can change your life. When you have a lot on your mind and you feel like your thoughts are driving you crazy, meditation can help you find peace, calmness and more self acceptance. Meditation helps turning one's life into a more beautiful, harmonious and happy one. When mind, body and spirit are in harmony, then everything seems right with the world."Through concentration and meditation you become the boss of your mind, and gain the ability to tell it when to be active and when to stay silent" ~ Remez Sasson

3 - Spend time in nature: Nature calls you back to reality. We can't stop it from raining. We can't delay the setting sun. We can't set the temperature to a comfortable degree. When we are climbing a mountain, our muscles are going to burn. But with this surrender comes such relief! We awake from a dream and realize how little control we really have. We remember that hardship and lack of control are part of life, and accepting this reality makes it not only bearable, but possible to feel the joy of being alive. By being in nature we feel comfortable in our own skin, we experience our own quiet peace and strength, we sense the inner us that is the true us. The mask we present to the outer world is irrelevant for a time, and put in its proper place. Nature helps us to connect with this powerful, loving presence, whether we call it GOD, Earth Mother, the Great Mystery or any another name. Nature brings us closer to GOD, our own spirit and helps us to live lives of meaning and joy. "The best remedy for those who are afraid, lonely or unhappy is to go outside, somewhere where they can be quite alone with the heavens, nature and God. Because only then does one feel that all is as it should be and that God wishes to see people happy, amidst the simple beauty of nature. As longs as this exists, and it certainly always will, I know that then there will always be comfort for every sorrow, whatever the circumstances may be. And I firmly believe that nature brings solace in all troubles." ~ Anne Frank

4 - Learn the power of a smile: A smile is a powerful key to living happy from the inside out. The simple act of smiling sends a message to your brain that you're happy. And when you're happy, your body pumps out all kinds of feel-good endorphins. Smiles are powerful and contagious. Don't hesitate to smile warmly at friends, family, colleagues and even strangers. Never stop smiling! God smiles on us each and every day. His love has no depth, his mercy no end. His arms are open wide, just step into them. "Smile and the world will smile with you."

5 - Choose to help others: Care for others genuinely around you. What you put out, you really get back in life. Being caring allows us to have empathy for others and to live a life based on affection, love, and compassion for the people around us. When we make a positive impact in someone else's life, we also make a positive impact in our own lives. Any act of kindness and goodwill eases our way towards inner peace. When we start helping others, we stop thinking about our so-called problems and then we realize that our life is not so bad after all. Do something that's greater than you - something that helps someone else to be happy or to suffer less. "No one is useless in this world who lightens the burdens of another." ~ Charles Dickens

6 - Never lose hope: Never give up. Never lose hope. Always have faith, it allows you to cope better during the trying times. Having hope is a personal decision, a bold conviction-a choice, and with hope we always have a path towards peace. Having hope is an active, decisive mindset etched into every single moment. No matter the haze and fog that clouds our vision, hope's laser cuts through, and never losing sight of her shimmering stars. Hope is something we can never afford to lose Who we really are is based on values we choose to live by, such as believing in the possible, believing in the goodness of others, and believing in the power of love and hope. When we decide to passionately pursue our greatest purpose, then we become the hope in our lives and manifest her greatest dreams, because we refuse to consider any other possibility. As Henry James put it, "Be not afraid of life. Believe that life is worth living, and your belief will help create the fact."

7 - Embrace your beliefs: I am not here to favour any belief system over another, but whatever it is that you are believing in, hold it closely in your arms, accept it willingly and enthusiastically, as by being within your faith, peace will find its way into your heart. We all might have different opinion in regards to our belief systems, but one thing that we all have to acknowledge is that without a healthy and solid belief system, we won't be able to find a fair conscience which could show us the way towards peace and wisdom. "Faith is universal. Our specific methods for understanding it are arbitrary. In the end we are all just searching for truth, that which is greater than ourselves." ~ Dan Brown

8 - Live in the present moment: When we live fully in the present moment, our awareness becomes completely centred on the here and now. We won't worry about the future or thinking about the past. How often have you been worrying about things that have yet to come, or how often have you been beating yourself for mistakes that you've made, no matter how much time has passed? Too much time, I believe. Not only living in present moment has a significant effect on our emotional health, but also it has a great impact on our physical wellbeing. By living in present moment we live in acceptance; we accept life the way it is, not the way we wish, it should have been. And when we live in acceptance, we realize that everything is complete as it is. We can forgive ourselves for the mistakes we've made, and we can have peace in our hearts knowing that everything that should happen will. "If you worry about what might be, and wonder what might have been, you will ignore what is."

Finding inner peace is not a simple or short path, but it is a process that we can all learn. It is a journey which needs to be appreciated every step of the way. We have to be willing to let go and step outside the box that we have accepted ourselves to be put into, in the first place and start from scratch. We have to be ready getting to know ourselves all over again and be willing to make mistakes. And most importantly, we have to realize that only we have control over our emotional responses and reactions and they can be changed for the better. And finally when serenity and unconditional love fill our hearts, we will accept that we cannot go back, and will not give up what we have now found, that peace that we seem to have been searching for our whole lives. "Remember, the entrance door to the sanctuary is inside you." ~ Rumi

Inner peace resides within us at all times. It has been said the only thing that prevents the human mind from finding peace, is the human mind itself. "Nothing can bring you peace but yourself."

3 Reasons Why Writing Down Goals Will Give You The Edge

Why writing goals down will give you the edge.

Do you have goals written down or do you keep them in your head, hoping that you will remember them throughout the year? Have you ever thought about writing goals down to program you to achieve them?

Writing goals down has many benefits. First, written goals will be in your own handwriting. This means that you will automatically feel more responsible for them. Second, when goals are written down, they will send a direct message to your brain to actually achieve them. Remember the time when you had to study for an exam, but used someone else's notes? How well did you study and what was your results of the exams? You are much better off when you study or write goals down in your own handwriting. Third, writing goals down will help you to remember them, I found that when I write goals down, I actually don't need to look at them again, it is just as if the goals are burned into my memory. Therefore I suggest that you consider writing goals down in your own handwriting, rather than typing it or using someone else's handwriting.

Now, how should you write your goals? Well, here are my guidelines for:

They should always start with - I will/I promise to/I must - these messages will tell your brain that it is an absolute must for you to achieve these goals. Most people write it down like I should/I want to/I need to - these are negative and you will struggle to achieve those goals.

Always use the SMART Principle - goals should be specific, measurable, achievable, relevant and time framed.

Make use of the Pareto principle - also known as the 20/80 principle says that you must focus on the 20% effort, resources or time that will give you 80% of the outcomes or results. To apply this principle, think of 3 very easy and simple actions you can take every day that will help you achieve the goals.

Here is an example of ineffective goals:

I need to lose weight.

There will be a very big chance that you will never achieve this goal.

Here is an example of the goal using my guidelines:

I will/must/promise to lose 10 pounds by 10 December 2015, by cutting my soft drink intake in half, going for a walk every second day and eating out only once a month.

From the above example, is it important that we send our brains a direct message that there is no option but to achieve the goals. It is also clear that writing goals down in this manner that are specific, measurable, achievable, relevant and time framed give is a perfect structure. It also shows that you can easily achieve the goal with the 20/80 principle.

Writing goals down can get you motivated, but how would it feel if they actually inspire you to take action and achieve them. Using these guidelines will definitely give you the edge in your life!

Amazing Benefits Of Being Optimistic

When it comes to the angle on how you perceive the world, studies have shown that being more optimistic can dramatically improve the quality of your life.

Optimism is simply looking at adversity in a positive light.

Taking the time to see things from a different perspective and shining a light on the positive can be extremely beneficial in all areas of your life.

Here are just a few ways on how being optimistic can help you in your daily routine:

Optimism promotes happiness.
It will help you keep your emotions in check.
Research into optimism shows it can actually increase your lifespan.
Being optimistic can reduce the level of stress you experience during unexpected events.
Optimism provides you with a stronger and more solid reason to live life.
Optimistic people are more proactive, rather than being reactive.
It provides you with an empowering way to handle failure in a constructive manner.
It is an essential trait that is common among successful people
It increases your productivity and creativity.
Optimism provides you with a way to deal with life in a balanced manner because it provides you the re-framing tools to deal with negative thoughts that inevitably pop up during the day.

These are just ten of the amazing benefits of being more optimistic.

There are many more attributes to taking a more positive approach to the things that life throws your way. People who tend to see the good in things rather than the bad are typically healthier as it improves both your psychological and physiological well-being.

When you are faced with adversity, the way that you approach the situation is extremely important.

Those who take a negative approach tend to live in a world that is "out to get them." These people often fail to see the bigger picture, which can have a negative impact on their life.

Those who face adversity with a positive attitude tend to have a happier life simply because they choose to see the light at the end of the tunnel. When life throws something at them, they look for the positives that can come out of it and move on towards a future that looks much brighter.

You will continually be challenged by difficult life circumstances, that is just a fact of life.

However, the next time you have negative thoughts, take a moment to think about how this negative experience could actually be a good thing. What's good can you gain here? What precious lessons can you learn from it?

Ask yourself power questions so that you take action and keep moving forward. This will benefit your entire well-being and help you experience a more fulfilling life.

Shifting Out of Negative Space

Meditating does not mean that you extract that part of your memory and forget all that has ever happened before. Especially life events that hasn't served you well and more than anything in this world, you would like the "pain and suffering" to be taken away. You must know, that our mind is like the revolving earth, ever evolving and spinning in its orbit in its own perfect proximity and whatever that's been planted before, it is there and always will be.

Because it is so wide and limitless, we can choose where we would like to lead our thoughts to. Our mind is the limitless space, and "negative" spaces are fundamental to building an "image and picture" of anything we wish to put together. That is how we are able to visualize dreams, scenarios, circumstances and fragments of things we have come to learn and know about. We put those pieces together inside our heads. When you learn to "un-clutter" the mind, you get to choose to be on the other side of the "negative space" that is part of your brain and living mind and you can't turn that part "off" like a switch. You can only ever attempt to make the effort for a "shift" into a different space.

When you "quiet" the mind, you see more clearly and there is a small window of opportunity to make the "shift" when that happens. Slowly, steadily, you shift yourself to a different space - a positive one. One that contains new affirmations and thoughts, new memories, experiences and places you have recreated for yourself. Planting new seeds takes time for it to grow and also takes consistent care for it to ensure that it is healthy and strong before you can bear fruits and flowers for you to enjoy and repeat the cycle.

It is a process, a journey, a learning curve for the mind to adjust and know its way around. Just like anybody you first come to know as a stranger, our minds are the same and it could be our potential best friend or worst enemy. You can make the effort to understand her strengths and weaknesses to make the "relationship" work or you can resist, resent it and feel like it is a battle and challenge every day and feel the need to fight against it all day long. It is a choice we all have and we can make it work to our advantage.

Meditation doesn't necessarily mean sitting in a chair or on a floor and just closing your eyes in a dead quiet room that could echo your breath and forcing your mind to stop the chatter. In the beginning, this would probably be counter-active to your first step of taking the leap to have control of your mind. It would probably work better if you used other tools or routines to help jump-start your mind and introduce new positive things and subjects into it before you begin to sift and sort.

Yoga is one of the methods that best serves as a physical and also a mental workout, producing best results for both body and mind. Because you literally hold your own physical body as your object of attention, all the focus and concentration put on it will ultimately produce positive results if you commit wholeheartedly and go into the postures with intent and give it your undivided attention. If you do it consciously for a full 60 - 90 minutes every day, that would definitely lead you feeling a whole lot better re-leasing all kinds of tensions and stress in your body and mind with your attention taken away from any feelings of negativity in that frame of time and put right onto your physical body directly to tone and strengthen. It is by far one of the most effective practices for easily distracted individuals.

You can of course pick up a quieter and more subtle routine and habit like a good self-development read, (if exercising is a big issue for you for whatever reason) books of a positive nature and feed your mind with more "good stuff" so that you can "fill it up" with new knowledge that are applicable in your daily activities and one that serves you well. Painting nature also serves as an extremely good way to put your attention on bright colors and natural feel-good settings and environment over a good period of an hour straight, uninterrupted with your mind stationed in a good, happy place.

It is a little obscure as people always have this idea that only professional artists can pick up that paintbrush to do something like that. But really, you don't need to be Picasso to attempt to engage in this activity. If you have a love for nature, it will not be a difficult task for you to set your eyes on it for a full hour, however your painting turn out to become is totally irrelevant and only serves as an outlet to grab hold of your attention.

The more positive activities and attitudes you choose to include into your daily life activities, the easier the road to be able to sit down and literally do nothing and naturally be able to quiet you mind comes quickly. You will no longer have to use external tools to aid you in doing so. It will just be you, your space and your mind. That is the ultimate goal eventually. Not having to meditate while you're in an awkward pose (yoga) or having to set your eyes on something beautiful to do so (nature) will be the best outlet to go about because you take yourself and your mind everywhere you go, literally.

You can't always carry your yoga mat with you 24/7 or readily have paints and brushes in your bag pack or a new book constantly at the back of your palms so if you can eventually do it with nothing in your hands or on your plate to "keep you occupied", you have successfully achieved the best method to do your meditation. To simply just sit there, close your eyes and let it all go. (Negative thoughts and feelings) To allow well-being to enter with ease and flow, making the shift to the positive space of every-thing you ever desired for and want in your life.

5 Ways How To Get Motivated To Get More Done

Want to learn how to get more things done?

Feeling no motivation to do what supposed to get done? If these are the problems that you are facing right now, don't worry as you are about to discover the 5 ways how to get motivated to get more done.

Motivation is what gets things started. Without motivation, you will never want to work on your dreams. Without motivation, you will procrastinate and never produce much result in your life. Thus, you need motivation to get things move. Below are the 5 ways how you can create motivation...

1. Listen To Uplifting Music

Music can lift us up. It has happened to everyone, regardless of who you are. When you are in a romantic restaurant, they would use romantic songs and music to enhance the environment. When you are in a business seminar, they will use fast-pace music to drive you.

Even when you are watching movie, the background music actually contribute a lot to create the desired effect and ambiance. So use music to motivate you. When you feel like no motivation, listen to songs that will drive you and music that uplift you.

2. Pep-Talk

Pep-talk is one of the easiest methods you can use to get motivated. Most people are not motivated and procrastinate on doing their tasks because they talk to themselves in the negative way. They tell themselves that they are too tired, they don't know how to do it or they can just delay the task.

If you talk to yourself this way, trust me, you will never get motivated to do what you need to get done. In sports, you can see that the athletes will gather in circle and motivate each other before the match starts. That is an example of a pep-talk. Hence, always talk to yourself positively to get driven. Sometimes you just need to tell yourself, "Yes I can do it."

3. Revisit Your Purpose

Your purpose and your reason behind what you do will drive you. If you don't feel motivated to do the things you set out to do, probably it is because your reason is not strong and emotional enough.

It is difficult to quit smoking. Until one day the health becomes an issue only then people have a strong and emotional reason to stop smoking. So always revisit your purpose. When you know exactly why you want to do something, nothing can stop you.

4. Break It Down

A huge task is difficult to tackle. Imagine if you need to write a section of a book of 10 pages, would you feel overwhelm? Most likely you will feel overwhelm. The easiest way to get motivated is to break the task into smaller items that you can act upon right away.

Ask yourself, "What is the one small thing that I can do right now?" And start doing it immediately. For instance, you can just write one single paragraph. And when you do, you will create the momentum and wanted to write more.

5. Motivation Through Fear

Imagine 3 years down the road and you are still right where you are, accomplishing nothing, is this the kind of life you want to have? Most people never feel a pinch when they think short term about procrastination. They prefer to watch TV and checkout Facebook than to work on their dreams.

It is fun to watch TV than to work on your goals. However, if you think about the long-term effect, you will notice that procrastinating on your work will create more destructive effect than positive ones. So use the fear to motivate yourself. Think long-term and look into the future to see what would happen if you did not work on your dreams now.

These are the 5 ways how to get motivated to get more done. You don't have to use all the 5 techniques here. Just apply those that you feel will work for you. As for the rest, try them out and see if they work for you.

8 Simple Steps To Solve Any Problems You Face

Do you think you could solve any problem?”

No matter how big it is, or how long it has affected your life?
ANSWER:
Here are 8 simple steps to systematically solving any problem you face:
s-s-s-sounds nice, that line ;-)
OK, here they are:

1. Clearly define the ‘problem’

Most problems are actually due to a lack of communication or clarity around what the problem actually is in the first place. How many times in your life have you actually discovered that the problem you thought you had wasn’t even the problem?
Keep digging and get to the root of the problem.
How many drugs are prescribed that don’t actually cure the problem?
How many wars do you think solve the problems at hand?
Clearly define the ‘problem’ through precise questioning and active listening, and you are well on the way to the solution:
“A problem well stated is a problem half solved.”
Have a ‘How can I?’ and not an ‘I can’t’ attitude.

2. Approach the problem with the attitude that there is a logical, practical solution, even if you don’t know what it is yet.

Be relaxed, confident and clear in your mind that the solution is there, and you just need to go through a natural, necessary process to get from A. the problem, to B. the solution.

3.Change your language from the negative to positive.

Instead of the word “problem,” use the word “challenge.” Problem is a negative word while challenge defines something that is there to be solved, a task that could even be fun, something to feel a sense of achievement to.

4. What are the causes of the ‘problem’? [now 'challenge']

Failure to identify the causes or reasons for the ‘challenge’ often means the problem recurs time and again. Like Yo-You dieting is often linked to an emotional based challenge – not the food or exercise on the surface. And recurring mistakes or themes in your life are probably more deeply rooted.
It is so much faster and more powerful to get to the root cause of the challenge, than to attempt to solve the ‘surface’ of the challenge.

5. What are all the possible solutions?

List and physically write down as many solutions or answers to the ‘challenge’ as possible. The quantity of possible solutions usually determines the quality of the solution, and you will be amazed at just how many potentially limitless solutions there are to one challenge.
This also has the powerful effect of devaluing the challenge. I once wrote down 356 solutions to one problem and it made it look pretty
The longer your list, the more creative and ‘left-field’ the solution, and they are often the best. They are also often the ones you don’t usually think of, and so are new opportunities.

6. Make a decision.

Usually any decision is better than none.
People are scared to make decisions, often go around in circles, and worry that any decision they may make, might be wrong.
The only wrong decision is no decision, because even if you are not sure that the decision you have made is the right one, it will either get you one step closer to the right decision, give you the feedback you need to get to the solution, or teach you something new.
You then have the power to make even a bad decision the right one.
Have Faith in Yourself.
You have all the tools available now to solve any problem, give yourself some credit and have faith in your abilities; you’re far more amazing than you realise! – at least that’s what my Mum always told me

7. Assign responsibility for carrying out the decision with clarity.

Clearly designate the responsibility to solve the problem. The clearer, the better. If you are outsourcing or delegating the action to solve, give them autonomy to make the decisions too.
Set a deadline for completion.
A decision without a deadline is a debate.
Be practical when it comes to implementing the solution, review it, monitor it and set an end date to make it happen.
Have others buy into the decision and the end date so they take on responsibility too.

8. Follow-up, monitor the decision and feedback.

Was the outcome as you hoped or expected?
What worked? What could have been done better next time? How can we avoid having the same challenge again? Create new solutions and new courses of action.
Enjoy turning every new problem from a problem into a challenge, then a challenge into a solution :-)

Releasing Tension and Negativity

Different faces, different places but the exact same experience. Ever felt that way? Of course you have. We all did at one point one way or another when we had no prior knowledge how to think with deliberate intent. We often react by what we observe. We not only react, we trigger off negative emotions almost instantly whenever something unpleasant is thrown our way. That's because your train of thoughts creates your current conditions. Because you are what you think about. The only way to change that experience is to decide you want to change your pattern of thoughts.
This is the perfect time to learn how to release the stress, built-up tensions and of course, the destructive negativity that more often than not revolves around "big" and heavy subjects like family, friends, work and even romance. Working our mental state of being (emotions and feelings) alongside meditation will allow you to recognize negative thoughts that crosses your way and sharpen your ability to snap back in control to stop reacting.

But rather, learn to stop for a minute, pause and observe with a solution-oriented mindset intending not to ignore, but to meet ourselves halfway to find a way "out" of the situation and work it to our best advantage. Instead of having it work against us, regardless of the current conditions that are most probably less than ideal in that moment. It paves a way and frees us from producing a negative emotion instantaneously but leaves a larger "leeway" for a good buffer of time to contemplate and solve. Eventually, it will just feel like a bump in the road every time you hit a curb.
At the early stages when the anger comes fast and hard, it is also the best time to practice recognizing your emotions and be extra aware of how it physically caused you "pain" in that very moment just feeling all that anger rushing through. Does it hit you hard face down in the chest with a hard thump, or you find yourself clenching your fist so tight you almost broke your knuckle bones?
You can then start to put what you have learned to test and take really deep exaggerated breaths and see how fast and quickly you are able to release that large amounts of tension just deliberate thinking (switching to the best possible thought you can pull out of your thinking box) and also match that breathing with the release of your "pain" you have felt initially. You may feel your chest slowly releasing its tight grip on your heart and you must remember how it felt initially in order for you to know how quickly you are able to release it the next time round.
Self-awareness is practiced too and we always sweep it under the rug and treat it as a "fleeting moment" but negative feelings lingers around for a long time if you don't "deal with it" there and then. Over time, if you stack these "overdue negative emotions" long enough it causes permanent damage not only to your mind but it also becomes detrimental to your physical body with all these "pent-up" issues unresolved.

Don't be afraid to face it in that moment when it comes, because the quicker you recognize it, the faster you will learn how to snap out of it when it happens again. You also leave more room for positive light to flow into your experience. You don't "clog up your pipes" with negativity. Awareness of happy emotions comes so easy because it feels good to experience it but awareness of negativity is essential and serves as stepping stones to sift and sort out the clutter during you meditative processes. If you "tolerate" pain and unpleasant emotions for too long, you become numbed to it and that is definitely not a good thing.

You will block yourself from experiencing positive emotions to its fullest heightened potential. You need to be able to recognize negative emotions so that it becomes crystal clear-cut which belongs to their rightful category and it comes as second nature to you, when you are choosing your thoughts while meditating. You will be "addicted" to feeling good basking with the best feeling thoughts and experiences and you will never ever look back or settle for less to leave room for extra negativity in life from this moment forward when you have attained a practiced mind that knows better.
This is a book specially written with my deep love nurtured for diversity, growth and development to uplift, inspire and lead you one step closer to living the life that is free of emotional struggles towards your health, relationships, food and everything that matters most to you learning how to make the shift in your perspective towards negative circumstances and living your life out to its fullest potential.
